As the Founder and Chairman of the Board for a 501(C)(3) IRS recognized children’s charity called Juli’s Kids Motivated to Succeed, Inc., affectionately referred to as Juli’s Kids, this purpose-mission is not business, its personal. Proceeds from these Big Game weekend events will benefit foster youth. I was placed in foster care when I was merely 3 years old and adopted out of foster care at age 5. So, this cause is extremely important to me, reliant upon by the other young kids who were also abandoned by their parents or rescued from their abuse, and beautifully revered by the celebs and social influencers who support the events year after year. I am proud to announce we have just been approved by the Walt Disney Company Social Responsibility Committee to be on their vetted list of charities selected for their Matching Funds Program.
Founded in 1999, Juli’s Kids mission is to motivate, inspire, strengthen, empower, and enrich the lives of abused, abandoned, neglected, bullied and homeless children and teens, who through no fault of their own are placed in foster care, group homes, kinship care, homeless shelters, domestic violence centers or LGBTQIA+ teen residential housing in intentional communities. The instability and disruption of family destroys young hearts, weakens their mental health, bruises their self-esteem, and diminishes their hopes and dreams. We plan on continuing to disrupt the foster care system, step in, rescue and love on our young Kings and Queens effectively and fully, because, unfortunately, the system is often failing them.
The events listed above will raise funds to build and cover yearly operating expenses for a new residential home, the Jordan Home for foster kids, to be a safe space for Los Angeles’ most vulnerable youth. After over two decades of supporting many wonderful children’s organizations around the world, Juli’s Kids has started the process of becoming a licensed children’s home and has begun the journey of drawing up plans to build and create a loving, nurturing community to keep foster kids from being bounced around and “lost” in the system. The instability and disruption of family destroys young hearts, weakens their mental health, bruises their self-esteem, and diminishes their hopes and dreams.
The Jordan House will provide compassionate stability and fierce protection. It is lovingly being built for the benefit of foster children so that we may teach, inspire, empower, and love them fully by connecting corporations, athletes, celebrities, philanthropists, medical professionals, and good-hearted everyday people who are like-minded in their desire to make a difference in the betterment of the life of a child.
We need your presence. We need your support.
